Background

Web hosting provider C I Host needed a way to easily distribute information about the company to the press and other outlets. An interactive multimedia presentation is great for this because it allows the viewer to quickly find information in a way that makes an impact.

Objectives

The information on the disc needed to be presented in a way that would grab the attention of the viewer. Members of the press have a lot of information to sift through and it was important for C I Host to be unique and memorable.

We also had to make sure that it was easy to find information. For the presentation to be effective, a user should be able to quickly find something they are interested in.

The client wanted to be able to use this CD-ROM more than just once. So we needed to create the presentation so that it would be easy to change its content as the company continued to evolve.

Solution

We decided that the best way to develop the presentation would be to use Macromedia Flash. Flash is a popular plugin used to display interactive multimedia content. We used this multimedia capability to bring life to the content with sound and animation.

To make the information easy to access, we created a simple menu system. From the menu, users can access any information needed in an efficient manner.

The majority of content is dynamically pulled from folders on the CD. By developing the compiled presentation separate from the content, we were able to ensure that the client could easily change make modifications. This allowed changes to be made to the presentation in very little time, saving money and making the project far more flexible.
