Web Developer with Java Experience (Full-Time)

This is your opportunity to use your knowledge of quality front-end web development and programming to create unique websites you will be proud of.

Plaudit Design is a well established and growing firm specializing in custom websites and Internet marketing. Here you will find a fast-paced environment that focuses on the creation of quality sites. You will create custom websites in small teams based on client objectives and project requirements. Throughout each project you will focus on front-end development and programming the integration of web-based systems.

All websites are developed using Java Server Faces (JSF), MySQL, Java and Plaudit Core (a Plaudit technology/framework). The Java programming you will perform primarily consists of the creation of JSF managed-beans that the view (HTML) communicates with. These beans will build ontop of existing Plaudit Core functionality and/or integrate with third-party systems (e.g. Salesforce.com).

Examples of a typical programming required as part of this position include:

Sholom's Event Calendar - Program custom event calendar interface with filtering with the help of existing code libraries
Thies & Talle's Map Search - Program site-specific search features by utilizing Plaudit Design's existing search framework

Responsibilities

Program in Java to add defined functionality to client websites.
Convert designs into HTML/CSS templates.
Develop Javascript animations and interactive HTML components using JQuery.
Ensure websites display and function correctly across multiple browsers and operating systems.
Coordinate with cross-discipline project team and consult with designers on technical factors.

Requirements

Expert knowledge of HTML
Expert knowledge of CSS 2 and 3
Expert knowledge of Javascript and JQuery
Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming
In-depth understanding of browser differences and bugs
Ability to develop websites based on Illustrator and Photoshop files
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and team members
Experience using a version control system such as SVN or Git.
Proficient using Linux
